  • MEC works with district-level policies and procedures to ensure that all new hires have the skills, language, and tools necessary to create inclusive classroom environments free of prejudice. Our interactive new teacher workshops enhance a district’s onboarding by providing targeted strategies for reducing bias from the very first day in the classroom.

We go beyond general training to focus on the nuanced ways bias can emerge in classroom setups—whether in the visuals teachers display, the books and supplemental materials they choose, or the language used to frame instruction.

Through hands-on activities and real-world examples, new teachers will learn how to critically examine their materials and create a classroom space that reflects diverse perspectives, fosters inclusion, and ensures that all students feel seen and valued.
